Official Font Used By Google Adsense

Since the last Adsense note that typography (which is the “study” of fonts) matters a lot in advertising, I’ve been doing a lot of testing and I think I’ve nailed it.
I’m happy to announce that I’ve discovered the exact font and font size that Google Adsense uses, and that is….
H2 bold 11px Verdana
I’m testing this out on one of my blogs and I’ll let report the results here. If you try this, and I recommend that you do, let me know it affects your results.
UPDATE: Admoolah reports you might also try: font: normal 13px/17px arial,helvetica,sans-serif;

Andy,
It is not always that Google will use 11px for Ads.
If Google expand the ad to occupy the entire ad unit, the font size would be greater.

Amit, you have a great point. I shoud have clarified that. When I’m writing about the font I’m taking into consideration that it’ll be just the standard ads, as that is the majority of the ads that come through google adsense.
One thing that I did notice is that when google does put in the bigger ads, it is not automatically ignored by the visitors because it doesn’t fit the sizes of the regular ads.
BTW, I like your blog, I’ve learned some new things from browsing it

I use firefox browser. Right click over the ad -> This Frame -> view souree
there you can find the CSS styles that google uses to decorate the ads.
